2000 or So Things — November 2026: 67 In, 2 Out

The first monthly playlist update: 67 songs added, two removed, and 1,726 total. The ones I forgot, the ones that left, and a good reason to hit shuffle.

NOVEMBER 2026 UPDATE
67 IN | 2 OUT | 1,726 TOTAL
SHUFFLE RECOMMENDED

You'd think that after putting more than 1,600 songs on a playlist, I might have covered the obvious stuff. Apparently not. Somehow I had room for all those songs but not "Something," "White Room," "Tumbling Dice," or "Peg." Good work, me.

So here we are with the first monthly update to 2000 or So Things: 67 additions, two departures, and a net gain of 65. The new batch runs from the Beatles and the Stones to Prince, 2Pac, and a Snoop Dogg track that lists Tom Petty among the artists. This is why the thing belongs on shuffle.

I'm not going to keep reposting the whole 1,700-plus-song list or retelling how it started. The original post explains the idea. Each month, I'll just show what's come in and what's gone out. Here's November.

Charcoal sketch of headphones and a notebook tallying November's playlist changes: 67 added, two removed, 1,726 total.

Still growing

The list now stands at 1,726 songs. It'll change again. There's no magic number to hit and no order worth preserving. The whole point is to have a pile of music I still love, waiting to surprise somebody when they hit shuffle.

Which song did I take an embarrassingly long time to remember? Which of the two removals would you argue for? Let me know through the contact page.
